Once a year, we have an amazing opportunity to give back and appreciate the ones that have made everything in life possible— our moms. There are times where we love you a lot and there are times where maybe not so much. There are times, where we get along and times where we may not agree, but in the end— you are still there no matter what.
Unconditional Love
Thank you for having unconditional love. No matter how many times we seem to fail you, your love never seems to change. All the times that we may have caused you to be angry, hurt, and worried, you still have love to give with open arms. From the minute we were born to raising us from kids, you were there. You were there to pick out our outfits, tried your best to attend every event, and made sure that there was always food on the table. No one else’s love can compare to yours, and that’s what makes you great.
Forgiving
Thank you for being forgiving, when there are times that you shouldn’t have been. Growing up, I know that we can be ungrateful with the little things, and always want what everyone else had no matter if you could have afforded it or not. There were times where we were rude, selfish, and said hurtful things when we didn’t have it our way, but you were forgiving and the love in your heart never changed.
Comforter
Thank you for being a comforter, when times were tough. You were always there when no one else was around. You heard our concerns, listened to our worries, and helped us with our struggles. You were there through all the bad grades, broken friendships, and heart breaks. There is no one else in the world who had our back the way our moms did.
Believing
Thank you for believing in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. You knew that we were always meant to grow up to be something great. That’s what you worked so hard, to make sure that when older we could have doors of opportunities opened to us that no one can shut. You believed in that one day, we could be whatever it is that we wanted, as long as we worked for it. You never gave up hope, and always wanted the best, even if we didn’t see it that way. All those times that you were being hard on us, was only to make us better.
The older I get the more I see all that you’ve done for me, and all that you continue to do for me. I can’t say this more than enough, that I appreciate and value everything you do, and it is because of you that is why I am who I am today.
This Mother’s Day, I want to say thank you to all the wonderful moms out there, even though you have one of the toughest jobs in this world— you still manage to be great.
Happy Mother’s Day!
