June, July, August…the months for enjoying summer.

We have addressed many issues in your special place in the sky, from floors, walls, art, stone as walls, and countertops. What do you want to ask next?

This month let’s talk about what you have accomplished so far. Look around and see what part of your personality you have wrapped your home in.
Wall coverings are another source of art for me. With the plethora of choices on the market, to catch a long- time phrase…the world is your oyster, what do you want to achieve? The recent offerings at the spring Furniture Market were breathtaking. With the advent of digital photography, the designers can really create an artful experience.

These are not your mother’s wallcoverings, that is for sure.
The designs run the gambit between what looks like reconstituted old wood slats, to actual, textured stone. There is one manufacturer, working in leather that has created magic. Color…no problem. Subtle but striking imagery, they are there for you to pick off the vine.
Why is this important? Think about that grand wall in your living room, connected to the dining area that looks out over your world, in your tower. Now picture that wall bathed in color, texture and uniquely designed wallcoverings. Can you do it? If not, step into the internet and pull up wallcoverings…they will introduce you to some fabulous works of art.
The introduction of wood look tiles a few years back, has grown into such a wide industry, you now see them on walls, as bases to furniture, and yes even on some ceilings. So, to see this medium represented in wall coverings is great. No more engineering fetes needed to tile that twenty-foot wall or the ceiling in the master suite.
Nothing could be better for those accent walls that you just don’t know what to do with.
Treat these walls as a possible piece of art. With corks, metallics, graphics, these pieces are worth the price of admission.

If you have not seen the advertisements for all the wonderful choices in these products, you owe it to yourself to go on a Mission, and see them.
Let’s do something fun, it’s summer time, and summer calls for some design inspiration.
